We've heard SOME people think we're planting too early...oh well! We don't have to drive to Mesquite to gamble!! We can do it in our own backyard!
We soaked our peas for a couple of days -- immersed in water one day -- put between wet paper towels on cookie sheets the next two days (covered with plastic to keep from drying out), and had seeds with primary roots sprouting when we put them in the ground on the third day, Friday, January 23.
The rain we prayed for came through...although it would have been nice to not be quite so drenched by the time we finished. But we are NOT complaining! The rain was perfectly timed and will help our garden get off to a great start!
Kids walking by have been big helps to jump in with a shovel or rake for 15 minutes here and there! Thanks Trevor Bringhurst, Thomas Hafen, Tyler Nielson, Dallin Hunt, Stetson Reed, Shaylee Reed, Kalvin Watters, Cassidy Reed, and Natalee Hunt!! Everyone helping makes things work well. Devon Reeves, Conley Gali, and Bart Fisher have helped out too. THANK-YOU!!
We look forward to seeing more and more friends and neighbors at THE GARDEN!

Hooray for Grandpa Reeves! There's never a garden big enough for him, anything will grow if he's working on it.
